So You Think You Can Dance

Some Highlights from last nights show.

An amazing Broadway routine. Liza has never sounded better.

What the Judges said..."I don't get it"
What the judges should have said...
Dance is about connection. There are all kinds of connection, and while we aren’t quite mature enough as an American culture to allow you two to explore a romantic dance with each other, the way you established and told the entire story of parenting - ranging from the tired efforts of a mother to feed her child, the foxling’s curiosity and playfulness, and finally even the support and sorrow involved in setting one’s young off into the world to take their own steps - you both managed to convey all of that. Your beautiful dance, the comfortable way you combined talents to tell a story, got run over like a hot tamale in the express lane of the tunneled vision.

I thought this was one of the most brilliant numbers on the show. Ever!

Danny and Neil met up with Mia Michaels for a contemporary piece. I thought the concept was great, and the two of them performed it very well. But I was disappointed in the judges reaction. I they ate this shit up. I don't think this dance showed the abilities of either of these dancers. I was so excited during the lead up to this number and when it was over, much like the rest of my life, I felt very disappointed.
You get one Mia, you get one.

If God has a dance floor... this is what's playing on it. Sans the music. Avril Lavigne? Seriously?

I may have voted for Sabra last night... like 30 times...
But I would totally be happy to see captain ridiculous (Danny) walk away with the prize tonight.

In fact... a big AMEN to almost all your comments in this post. Especially re: God's dance floor.
