My Hero
Girl Crush and New Movie
Extra! Extra! Read All About It!
My dear friend, Ryan Shattuck, writer of the wildly acclaimed blog bullshattuck.com, has just had his first article published in the Advocate.
I ran across Ryan's blog on his myspace profile about 2 years ago and have been a huge fan ever since. Ryan is willing to say what the rest of us are only thinking. He puts it out there almost every week on his blog. Some people walk the walk, but dear readers, Ryan Shattuck talks the talk. He's funny, brilliant, witty, sarcastic, and the most tender lover I've ever known.
Ryan is not just a writer though. In his spare time he is a part time jazz choreographer, a classically trained baritone and a stone mason.
Ryan sweetie, I know I tease you.... a lot. But it's just cause I'm so damn jealous. Congratulations on this wonderful achievement. I've got a bottle of wine at my house with your name on it.

Crush of the Day! Boy With Piano Edition.
So I'm sure I'm totally behind the times on this discovery as well. But it's like my mother always used to say a we were shopping for school clothes at Deseret Industries, "It's new to you."
Jon McLaughlin. Pretty, plays piano, sings, pretty, talented, looks good on film... Did I mention that he's pretty?
I happened upon his video for Beautiful Disaster today. I was totally amazed at this video. It was very reminiscent of Christina Aguilera's 'Beautiful'.
The girls in the video made me think about my 14 year old niece. She is getting ready to go back to school. She's a very pretty girl but isn't as skinny as th other girls in her class. I don't envy kids at that age. I wouldn't go back to Junior High for all the money in the world.

So You Think You Can Dance
An amazing Broadway routine. Liza has never sounded better.
What the Judges said..."I don't get it"
What the judges should have said...
Dance is about connection. There are all kinds of connection, and while we aren’t quite mature enough as an American culture to allow you two to explore a romantic dance with each other, the way you established and told the entire story of parenting - ranging from the tired efforts of a mother to feed her child, the foxling’s curiosity and playfulness, and finally even the support and sorrow involved in setting one’s young off into the world to take their own steps - you both managed to convey all of that. Your beautiful dance, the comfortable way you combined talents to tell a story, got run over like a hot tamale in the express lane of the tunneled vision.
I thought this was one of the most brilliant numbers on the show. Ever!
Danny and Neil met up with Mia Michaels for a contemporary piece. I thought the concept was great, and the two of them performed it very well. But I was disappointed in the judges reaction. I they ate this shit up. I don't think this dance showed the abilities of either of these dancers. I was so excited during the lead up to this number and when it was over, much like the rest of my life, I felt very disappointed.
You get one Mia, you get one.
If God has a dance floor... this is what's playing on it. Sans the music. Avril Lavigne? Seriously?
I may have voted for Sabra last night... like 30 times...
But I would totally be happy to see captain ridiculous (Danny) walk away with the prize tonight.

Disillusioned Crush of the Day
Desperate Housewives star Jesse Metcalfe is set to release an album - and thinks he could be the new James Blunt.
The actor, 28, is certain the album will be a huge hit.
‘People are going to be shocked by my first album. It’s going to reveal my unseen mature side and I’ve even co-written some of the songs,’ he tells the Daily Sport.
‘I think I could be the next James Blunt.’
Wow Jesse... way to aim for the bottom.Monday, August 13, 2007

Sunset Boulevard
Meryl Streep, Glenn Close and Barbra Streisand are fighting to play Sunset Boulevard diva Norma Desmond on the big screen, according to Hollywood reports. The ladies are reportedly on a shortlist being considered by Andrew Lloyd Webber, who composed the music for his version of the 1950 film classic.
London’s Daily Telegraph reports all three stars have been in discussions about taking on the role of Desmond, played famously by Gloria Swanson.
Close played the role onstage in Los Angeles and originated the role on Broadway, while Streisand has recorded versions of Sunset Boulevard ballads As If We Never Said Goodbye and With One Look.
Ewan McGregor and Hugh Jackman are reportedly favored for the role of screenwriter Joe Gillis in the musical remake.
Who do you think the role should go to?
